Enkirch parking space on the Moselle

Enkirch

While we were standing in the parking lot of the Teufelsschlucht, we got a call from our friends Uschi and Ludger. On the way to the Palatinate, they wanted to meet us so that we could see each other again. That's when the idea came to us in the place Enkirch to stop us from the annual "Willi Meet" Know from late August / early September. On Wednesday we drove the beautiful route along the Moselle towards Koblenz to meet us on the pitch.

The Enkirch parking space

The parking space is super nice, right on the Moselle and is also large. We also got space and still had the opportunity to keep another space free for the two of them. So we talked to them and it was agreed that they would come to Enkirch on Fridays.

The entrance to the parking space meadows is well signposted. Directly at the entrance is a large tarred space on which the motorhome can be parked. There is a small ticket booth there where you can buy a ticket. A groundskeeper also makes his rounds around the square 1-2 times a day. You can also get the ticket from him / her. The meadows where the mobile home can be “parked” are clearly recognizable. There is no fixed division of the places here. The Hygiene measures of the parking space, such as the distance to the next mobile home and the sanitary facilities, should be observed. Some electricity pillars are available on the meadows marked on the overview map. If all meadows are occupied, the groundskeeper will release another, very large meadow on the left side of the actual parking space.

The supply and disposal can be found at the end of the square. Since this year 2020 there is also a service butler who cleans the chemical toilet. Cleaning only takes a few minutes and you get an individual saying depending on how clean the toilet is. Interesting fun that we indulged in. 🙂

The place itself was really full and there were still more mobile homes. Even in the meadows that were not designated as parking spaces, it was full. Since we still needed a place, we didn't move very far from our polar bear, because the free places were taken immediately. We actually only know it so fully from the Willi meetings. Although it is even closer because you don't have to keep a distance of 4 meters.

More information about the You can find Willi Treffen on their website.

So we spent the 2 days until Friday evening doing something on our homepage, editing pictures and writing texts. Or to let your soul dangle in the beautiful weather. Especially Finja thought it was really great. She is off the bus in the morning, has taken turns lying on the meadow with sun and shade and is back in in the evening. She really enjoyed it. Then I used the time and cleaned the bus. You slowly get used to it in a "One room condominium" to live. Everyone has their tasks and the process works without falling over your feet.

Our visit

Then on Friday evening Uschi and Ludger arrived. A super nice reunion! We spent time together until Sunday noon, talked a lot and enjoyed the sun. What was really astonishing, in the evening around 10 p.m. almost all the people were in their camper vans and only a handful were still sitting outside. We hadn't seen that before either; we sat in front of our cars until shortly before midnight. It was getting really fresh, but why do you have thick socks, training jackets and blankets with you? We really enjoyed the weekend with both of them !!

Enkirch

There are many vineyards, forests and hiking trails around the town of Enkirch. Of course, you can also taste the wine grown here on site. Some of the hiking trails sound musical or strenuous, as the names suggest: the songs trail, steep slopes, to name two. There are also long-distance hiking trails such as the Moselsteig Trail. There is a pedestrian ferry on the river bank directly at the parking space that goes to the other side of the river to the village of Kövenig.
