Finally, we did it !! Our first foreign country, which we after our Visit to Usedom achieved. Now we are curious what to expect and look forward to getting to know Poland.

Miedzyzdroje
The plan was actually to go to Stettin. But after looking for an affordable place to stay for ages, we made a different decision and are now driving along the Baltic coast towards Gdansk. The first sight that we have set ourselves on the Polish coast is Miedzyzdroje with its long pier.
To get to mainland Poland from the Polish side of Usedom, you have to use a ferry. Unfortunately we chose the wrong ferry, which is only valid for residents. A very attentive resident then told us that we were wrong and that we would have to take a ferry that is a little further away. He also spoke German very well. After a short search we found the other ferry and drove over to the mainland. The ferry across the Swine is on free. For longer waiting times, there is also a chip shop near the ferry. A tunnel or a bridge is probably being planned.
Our first stop was in Miedzyzdroje. There we looked at the 390 m long pier into the Baltic Sea. It's unbelievable how many ice cream cafés and souvenir shops are next to each other. It was just incredible. Sometimes you feel like you are in a market. The Miedzyzdroje pier itself is very long and from here you have a very nice view of the coastal landscape. There is a parking lot attendant in the village. The parking lots in Międzyzdroje are usually guarded or equipped with camera systems.
Mielno
From Międzyzdroje we continued on the country road along the coast. Here, too, there are many tree-lined avenues on the country road. What distinguishes them from German avenues of trees on such streets, however, is that they are cut very far upwards and back to the sides. Even trucks can drive under without any problems. The layout of the tree-lined avenue makes it look like driving through a tunnel. That's just great. Unfortunately we hadn't found a parking space where Basti could get out to photograph this line of trees.
For the night we have a parking space in Wedelno found. It is located directly on Jezioro Jamno Lake on one side and the Baltic Sea is about 700m away on the other. The operators speak perfect German and are very nice.
After we slept really well, we walked about 800m to a forest. There we made a little tour where things / carvings made of wood are on display, such as a pine cone or a boat. The loop through the forest was very nice and again offered a change. From there we went down to the beach and walked a bit along the beach. Later we looked at the promenade.
What strikes us after only 2 places: in the coastal towns or near the beach there are an incredible number of snack bars, restaurants and souvenir shops next to each other. It is also noticeable that more and more hotels are springing up near the promenade. There is one construction site after the other. In the vicinity of the beach or in the places that are close to the beach, more and more new houses and holiday bungalows are springing up.
Who more about Mielno and its surroundings we want to find out what we are looking for here.
Darlowo - stopover
From Mielno we are further down D.arlowo drove into the harbor area. Again, there is an amusement park with a Ferris wheel and bumper cars as well as a souvenir shop and snack bar next to the other. When we went on towards the harbor mole, we saw two "old" sailing ships. On these you can take a trip to the open sea, about 1/2 hour. However, the sails are only mock-ups and they are motor-driven. We walked to the end of the pier. From there you have a wonderful view of the port area and the coastal landscape. We could also watch one of the sailing ships coming in.
On the way back Finja did not want to run any further shortly before the car. She probably suspected that we still wanted to go. Then she thought about it and came along to the bus. For them, it's probably a bit exciting to stop over and then drive on. Especially since the streets are not always that great and there are times when it sways a lot.
SurfCamp on Lake Gardno
Our next parking space was that SurfCamp on Lake Gardno. Since we were there late in the evening, we didn't see that much either. The plan was to move on the next day. However, this camp has a washing machine available and so we decided to stay one more night.
So the next day we had something to do. I did laundry, but only 2 machines. Washing itself wouldn't have been a problem, but getting the laundry dry would be. Sebastian had pulled me a little leash from a pole to the bus and, before we went on trips, got an "Olli". This is a metal laundry hanger that I can hang under the trunk, for example. Since it was really windy that day, almost everything got dry. I dried the rest in the car at the Olli in the evening. Then I did a bit of cleaning in and around the car, like cleaning the windows.
The day before, Sebastian had discovered a small rust spot on the back of the stern by the step and then wanted to do it. Well, bad, because he found more than just a rust spot. He had made the "mistake" of removing the seal on the door below. But a good craftsman on tour has everything with him. So also the things to work on the rust spots.
Since we were standing by a lake, we thought we could walk a bit around the lake. However, there is no circular route there. You can only walk the road and a small forest path. Finja was also very lazy. She enjoyed the day resting and sleeping and therefore only walked the most necessary stretches.
The place itself was really nice, everything was available except for sewage. The operator was also very nice and spoke English to us. Since it's a SurfCamp, there were of course a lot of people to surf. In the morning you saw all the children on the water with a surf instructor. The good thing about the lake was that it is only 2 meters deep over its entire surface. Not too bad for learning.
