When traveling with a pet, there are always difficulties or illnesses to be expected. Last year Finja tore a cruciate ligament and we had to cancel our trip. This year she has had stomach and intestinal problems a lot, but we don't have to go back for that. However, one or the other time a visit to the vet is announced. So far it has always been okay afterwards, but we have to have it checked out again. In Trondheim there is a visit to the vet again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trondheim - veterinarian and old town with charm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We slept well that night and then got up early because we didn't want to be at the vet that late. Finja felt better again. After a quick cup of coffee we're headed Trondheim<\/strong> drove to the veterinary clinic. We didn't have to wait long there to get our turn. The good thing was that we got a vet who could speak German and understand everything, since he had studied in Germany. A stone from the heart for us, as it is always difficult to explain the problems and symptoms in English. Also that she gets light food and that we went to the vet in Andenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then examined Finja and wasn't squeamish about it. Since she didn\u2019t show any pain reaction during all the pressing, he said that it was probably not the pancreas but rather an intestinal inflammation. To be on the safe side, he took a blood sample and wanted to contact you when the results were available. Since it would take about 1 week, he then calls. He recommended us a dry food, which is given for intestinal diseases, but we refused that and are waiting for the results. Finja then got another vitamin injection and then we could walk again, with probiotics for the intestinal structure in our luggage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since our friends are currently working on major construction sites on and in the house, they didn't have time to show us around Trondheim. So we drove to a parking space in the middle of the city to stand there for one night. We were there quite early and Finja was fine again, so we wanted to see the city in the afternoon. Even though it was still early, the place was incredibly crowded. But there was another one for us and after Finja had eaten, we ran into town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First we went towards the port canal, which has to be crossed with many bridges. The weather was just great, blue sky and sun. There are many jetties on the harbor canal, where large sailors were also parked. Of course, a lot has been newly built here and has its own charm. The old has been integrated, for example old cranes to load ships and a playground next to it. Really nicely done. We then got into the city center via a pedestrian bridge. Here there were old, well-preserved houses between the modern. Didn't always go together, but it's great that they leave the old houses behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basti and I were hungry and we said beforehand that we wanted to eat something in town. So we stopped at a burger shop and treated ourselves to some french fries. Eating out in Norway is almost priceless, but since we rarely ate on the way on our trip, we indulged ourselves. The order was weird too. Here you go to the website via a QR code and then order. Then you go in and get a beeper. Something like this was unique for us so far, but it does happen more often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then it went on and we discovered the Regenschirmstrasse. So colorful and beautiful when the sun is shining too. We walked through the many alleys and streets and we really liked the city. In a large square there was a small market and lots of cafes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are then through a park Nidaros Cathedral<\/strong> got. There was still a cemetery to the side and when we looked at the tombstones, we realized that they were only graves of high and important people, such as a mayor, an architect (who supervised the construction of the cathedral) or a Bishop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cathedral was built over the grave of St. Olav, the founder of Trondheim. It is still a place of pilgrimage to this day. There are around 5,000 sculptures around the cathedral and some figures have familiar faces, such as Bob Dylan or King Haakon VII. It was also the coronation site of 7 Norwegian kings. You can also visit it, but you have to buy a ticket. I actually wanted to go in, but then found it too expensive just to visit a church. From the outside, the cathedral was very impressive. Behind the cathedral is that episcopal palace<\/strong>. The Norwegian Crown Jewels are on display here and is now a museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continued towards the old town, Baklandet<\/strong>. About the Gamle Bybru<\/strong>, the old town bridge, leads to the old town. But first you have to take a photo of the bridge and then of the bridge over the Nidelva River, where the beautiful colorful houses of the old town stand on both sides. Incidentally, this is a well-known postcard motif from Trondheim. A dream in the sunshine. The houses on the river stand on stilts in the water and some no longer looked so trusting, but the houses were almost all inhabited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old town of Baklandet impressed us with its charm. The many small cobblestone streets, the colorful houses and the small cafes and shops was just a dream. Except for deliveries and residents, this is also a car-free area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back on the bus early, we ended the late afternoon and went to bed early. We also saw that the square with its 150 seats was full and new mobiles were still coming in looking for a free spot. Finja was slain and fell asleep almost immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting friends - had 2 wonderful weeks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since it was my birthday the next day, we wanted to go to a waterfall and spend the night there. Before that, we washed the bus in Trondheim because it was totally dirty and bought a few things for Finja. When we arrived at the rest area, the place turned out to be a historical site of smelting works and you weren't allowed to stay there overnight. The route there was a dream again. In the meantime you felt like you were going through a canyon with the big river next to it. The waterfall was quite small and above it there were several small pools where the water collected. Since it was warm, some young people bathed there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a break and several photos, we drove on. We had chosen a place to sleep by a lake. The way there led us between the mountains in a kind of gorge and was incredibly great. On the way we looked to see if we could stand there, but the places were either too small or too sloping. Or you had no internet, which would have been stupid about calls today. But the ride was great. When we arrived at the lake, we had a nice evening and were still walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning we slept in, had a quiet coffee and washed our hair. We drove to our friends around noon. We didn't have to drive that long and then we replenished and bought drinking water in the next town. We were there in the early afternoon and looking for the entrance. The background: We met Dani and Torsten a year ago and chatted for half an hour. It worked immediately and when they found out that we wanted to go to Norway, we received an invitation straight away. We have now redeemed it and it was really two wonderful weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed the time with them, the conversations were unique and we just felt comfortable! During this time it turned out that the daughter lives not far from the lake where we stayed. I could do the laundry with her too. Dani and Torsten still had a visitor, Ralf. Somehow it wasn't a coincidence that we all saw each other and that it worked so well between us. Thanks for the offer that we can come back. We will definitely be at your door at some point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn man mit einem Haustier unterwegs ist, muss man immer mit irgendwelchen Schwierigkeiten oder Krankheiten rechnen.
